Can Foreigners Get Undergraduate Education in Turkey?

What is the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS)?
Foreign students who want to study in Turkey and do not have enough points in internationally recognized exams are required to obtain a valid score in a special exam organized by universities. This exam, called the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS) in Turkey, is a type of exam that only foreign students can take. Turkish students or TRNC students cannot take the exam.
YÖS has two stages. Students must first pass a test called the 'Basic Learning Skills Test'. In this test, which aims to measure the abstract thinking levels of the candidates, there are also English explanations in addition to the Turkish questions so that the language barrier does not arise. In the other stage, there is the 'Turkish Test'. The purpose of the test; It is based on the ability to understand, comprehend and interpret expressions written in Turkish. Both types of tests are effective in university entrance, but while some universities are based on the basic learning skills test, some universities may use the Turkish test score as a basis. Graduate Programs in Turkey
In Turkey, master's, doctorate, specialization in medicine or proficiency in art programs are called postgraduate programs. Master's programs conducted through institutes appear as two different education programs, with and without thesis. The education period of master's programs is four semesters.
Doctorate Programs in Turkey
At least seven courses are taken in doctorate programs in Turkey, proficiency exams are taken during the year, thesis proposals are created and thesis studies are started. Students are given a maximum of 4 semesters to complete the doctorate program courses. Completing the doctorate program covers 8 semesters. Candidates who will apply to the doctorate program must have successfully completed their master's degree.
